Foursquare Greece

Founded in 1952 by Theodore Davis.

George Patsaouras has been instrumental in forming and leading the Greek Foursquare church. George was born into a Greek Orthodox family but was converted in 1964 under the ministry of Theo and Mary Davis. As a young man, he felt a call to ministry as he continued his law education, graduating from the Law School of Athens University as an attorney. He served as General Supervisor of the Foursquare Church in Greece and as pastor of the central church in Athens, a congregation numbering approximately 600. Their ministry produced a number of other Foursquare churches and meeting places throughout Greece. Margarita came to Greece from Puerto Rico with another single missionary woman. While they were ministering in Greece, she met George and married him in 1978. In addition to her own outstanding music ministry, Margarita ministered with her husband. They have two daughters.

In January 2020 George passed away. Consequently the Greek Foursquare church finds itself in a transition period, currently with oversight by Jeff Roper and additional leaders from Foursquare Europe

Our Strategy to Reach the Nation

Exciting ministry opportunities abound in this nation that hosts people groups from Latin America, Iran, Poland, Bulgaria, Russia and Romania. The Foursquare churches have responded by pioneering works among these communities.

Other strategies include identifying, training and releasing leaders among the churches of Greece.
